SEASIDE does not seek to describe the sea, but approaches it as a space of projection.
Photographed along the English coast between 2020 and 2023, the images emerged from repeated journeys to the seaside.
The sea appears as both openness and uncertainty, suggesting freedom, yet resisting orientation.
The mountain remains as an idea of stability, something that holds.
I wander between the two, along the line called the seaside, lingering somewhere between the stability of the familiar and the uncertainty of exploration.
The wind passes. Light breaks through the clouds. Waves approach and retreat.
People sit there, facing the sea, looking into the distance, unsure how far their gaze can reach.
Attention gradually shifts away from the self, toward others, surfaces, and space, following the horizon, until everything within me settles into a single, quiet line.
A temporary displacement.
A form of medication.
The sea returns as force.
The wind rises.
The light fades.
The moment ends.
