Seaside does not describe the sea, but approaches it as a space of projection.

The images are made along the UK coast between 2020 and 2023, during repeated visits. Rather than documenting place, the work observes moments of stillness, distance, and hesitation.

The sea appears as both openness and uncertainty — suggesting freedom, yet resisting orientation. In contrast, the mountain remains as an idea of stability, something that holds.

Attention shifts away from the self, toward others, surfaces, and space. A temporary displacement. A form of meditation.

The sea returns as force. The wind rises. The light fades. The moment ends.
