Visibility, distance, and touch run throughout JUNGE MÄNNER, across its images, publications, and objects.
Images are extracted from their original contexts, processed, and rearranged, taking on new forms across different media.
They move beyond the screen into publications and objects that can be touched, carried, and used.
In the zine, images become a physical sequence that can be touched, leafed through, and revisited.
CMYK hand-pulled screen printing separates images into different colour layers, which are then printed one over another.
The body gradually emerges through colour and halftone dots, retaining a sense of ambiguity and uncertainty.
The dog tag draws on the form of a military object, bringing the tension between discipline, control, and desire into contact with the body.
The carrier bag conceals images within its interior, allowing moments of viewing to emerge through opening, use, and accidental exposure.
These different forms are more than extensions of the images.
Through their materials, structures, and ways of use, they establish new relationships between images, objects, and the body.
JUNGE MÄNNER seeks to establish a coherent visual and aesthetic language across different media,
allowing the relationships between images, objects, and the body to continue unfolding in different forms.
